An extensive set of REST APIs allow you to integrate your systems into our Transport Intelligence Platform

This is the Route42 API

Fleet owners are increasingly looking to use data collected directly from telematics devices in their vehicles. However without proper integration into other systems it is difficult for fleets managers to get the complete value out of their vehicles’ data. Rendering the data useless. Those days are over now. The Route42 API enables you to bring your data to our platform and enjoy the insights provided by us.

The Route42 API is built to allow you to create a functional application or integration quick and easy. We know its ease of use from our own experience – our APIs power the Route42 applications, dashboards and apps. This means everything you see has been built upon those exact same APIs, we eat our own dogfood! The ecosystem of developers creating integrations on top of the APIs is strong and diverse, ranging from 3rd party integrations providers, to app developers, to data analysts at our customers.

All of the Route42 APIs are organized around REST – if you’ve interacted with a RESTful API already, many of the concepts will be familiar to you. We use many standard HTTP features, like HTTP verbs, which can be understood by many HTTP clients. JSON will be returned in all responses, including errors.

The APIs are designed to have predictable, straightforward URLs and to use HTTP response codes to indicate API errors.

Integrations

It’s easy to integrate more asset data (e.g. vehicles with a telematics box, whether equipped with embedded telematics or aftermarket gateways such as TomTom or Transics) via the API.  By sending a vehicle identifier (e.g. the chassis number), the timestamp and location (a coordinate), the vehicle will show up on our Track application in no time enabling you to know the location of your assets with the click of a button.

Webhooks
With the newly launched Automations application you can set up Webhooks which will deliver real-time  data to a configured location. This enables the user to set various automated tasks for the application to handle. Such setting up a notification for maintenance shop employees when a vehicle’s MOT date is approaching while the vehicle is located without a specified Point of Interest (POI).
